Compulsory renovation of obsolete windows !

Since 1st February 2016, building owners have been under an obligation to renovate any windows which cause high energy loss by either adapting or replacing them. This obligation, which relates specifically to single-pane windows and shop windows, aims to reduce energy consumption by property in Geneva.

Article 56A of the Regulation on Miscellaneous Constructions and Facilities (the applicable regulation of the law on miscellaneous constructions and facilities) was amended by the Geneva Council of State, setting a precise deadline for bringing windows and frontages (shop windows, entrance doors, awnings, etc.) into line.

An EnerBat Eco-adviser will help you through the formalities involved in carrying out the study, and provide advice on renovation with the aim of adhering to this law or applying for an exception to be granted.
